Responding to Canada’s Overdose Crisis – Facts & Actions
Responding to Canada’s Overdose Crisis –
Update November 2022
Following the Street Health led seminar we held May 25, 2022 on the poisoned drug crisis, some attendees sent our model letters to governments. One reply from Health Canada showed some understanding of the issues but described only timid actions by the government. So that reply warranted a response which we converted into a follow-up draft letter Federal Letter November 10, 2022. You are welcome to use it or modify it as you see fit.
We’ve provided email addresses November 13, 2022 to help you find relevant addresses. We believe that informing our MPs and all opposition shadow cabinet members can help bring light to the issue that the Ministers we address might not wish to share.
We also include Provincial Letter November 10, 2022 updating the previous model letter written near the end of an election campaign. Now that there is a new Ontario Cabinet, its time to tell them what you think. Again, feel free to use this letter and customize it as you see fit.
The fight to eliminate the poisoned drug crisis needs public pressure. We hope you will add you voice.
