Red Door Family Shelter Holiday Drive 2024.
Fairlawn, has partnered with the Red Door Family Shelter, through our Embrace Action (EA) Fund since 2007 to make the holidays a little brighter for the families sheltering there.
Donations are gratefully accepted starting Sunday, November 10 through Sunday, December 1st either to the main office from Monday to Thursday between 9:00am – 4:00pm or Sundays between 10:00am – 10:30am before service in our wrapped donation boxes at the SE Sanctuary Door (the Nook).
The items requested by Red Door this year are
- non-perishable food items
- baby formula and diapers (size 5 and 6)
- women’s hygiene products and toiletries
- new, unwrapped toys and gifts for children to age 13
- new children’s winter clothing
- coats, snowpants, boots, hats, scarves and mittens
Please note that only new items can be accepted. Cash donations may be made online or via with the memo line noted as “Red Door” or directly through your offering or Stewardship Campaign pledge.

Red Door Family Shelter Holiday Drive 2021.
Thank you so much for your donations to the Red Door Gift Drive this year. Thanks to your generosity, we dropped off a car-full of children’s toys and baby items and $1,350 worth of gift cards at the shelter! The staff was delighted to see how successful the Fairlawn drive continues to be, and were so appreciative of the impact Fairlawn will have on children and families at Red Door this Christmas.
We collected donations of new, unwrapped toys for ages 6-12, new winter coats, non-perishable food or grocery gift cards, and full-size toiletries.

Fairlawn Embrace Action Fund
Red Door provides safe and supportive shelter to hundreds of families each year, helping to keep families together by providing services for the whole family. They assist each family in establishing a stable life beyond the shelter.
Rationale for supporting Red Door
- The work that Red Door does is aligned with our EA vision to provide symptomatic relief and support to those whose lives are precarious.
- Red Door provides shelter from domestic violence for women who have been abused and need somewhere to protect their family.
- This charity addresses poverty, and provides support for mental health and issues of domestic violence.
